Power of Six

David Grove, (half Maori—New Zealand) was one of my teachers. A wise and gentle genius, he created ways for clients to interact with their issues and goals without the intervention of a therapist. His latest innovation is called Power of Six. He died suddenly in January of 2008. I am very fortunate to have studied with him in 1994 and again in 2007.

Power of Six is a guide to self-knowledge—driven by six principles:

Clean Start

Clean Language Questioning

Emergence

Power of Space

Iterative Questioning

Network Solutions

Power of Six requires me to ask each participant a series of simple questions. Within each series, I ask a specific question six times. This may seem tedious, even simplistic, yet the power of each question lies in its repetition. Power of Six comes equipped with sufficient differing sets of questions to keep the process flexible and fascinating.

Not only are there sets of questions, there are SPACES and adjacent SPACES. You will learn to navigate, evaluate and maneuver in these spaces, to mine them for information.

Combining Clean-Language questioning with client-generated movement gives
birth to Emergence Knowledge—fresh insight
that comes to the client totally by surprise.

Emergent Knowledge arrives out-of-the-blue with an ease that initiates
the collapse or restructuring of old information.

Emergent Knowledge happens through the elegant simplicity of the process—

as experienced by the Client.

Emergent Knowledge Solutions are practical because they illuminate the way for
creative, decisive, wise, appropriate, clear and doable action.
